About Oscar Lohuis
Oscar Lohuis was born in Haarlem in 1967 and grew up nearby in Aerdenhout. In his teenage years, he came to a living faith in the Lord Jesus. After obtaining his secondary school diploma, he wanted to dedicate a year to getting to know the Bible better before going to university. To this end, he went to study at the Continental Theological Seminary, an international Bible school in Brussels, Belgium. After that year, while staying in the United States, he received a calling from the Lord God to dedicate his life to the proclamation of the gospel. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Theology (Brussels, 1989), a Master of Divinity (Tyndale Theological Seminary, Amsterdam, 1992), and a Master of Theology (Evangelical Theological Faculty, Leuven, 2006).
From January 1995 through April 2001, Oscar served as minister of the Baptist congregation in Meppel. From May 2001 through December 2006, he served as minister at the Free Baptist Congregation in Emmeloord. Since January 2007, Oscar has been released from his duties to devote himself entirely to proclaiming the gospel as a traveling preacher, evangelist, and Bible teacher. The name given to this ministry is Good News Ministry. Since the founding of this work, Oscar has held the status of Minister in Extraordinary Service within the Alliance of Baptist and CAMA congregations (unpaid). Oscar has been married to Loïs since 1991 and is the father of four children. From the very beginning of Good News Ministry, Oscar and Loïs have been affiliated as missionaries with the congregation in Emmeloord, of which Oscar was previously the pastor.

Passion, vision and objective
Passion
Proclaiming the Gospel in the Power of the Holy Spirit
Vision
Many have never heard a clear proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is unfamiliarity that makes the Gospel unloved. It is necessary to walk new paths through which we can go out with the message God has given us. The message that brings people to salvation, through which people find new life, and through which God is honored above all. There is embarrassment regarding evangelization in the church, certainly regarding evangelization through preaching, even though it is the direct command of our Lord to make the Gospel known to unbelievers. A people perishes through lack of knowledge. Knowledge of the Gospel is of vital importance for both temporal and eternal life.
Objective
To make the Gospel known to as many people as possible through speaking and writing. That as many people as possible hear the Gospel: faith comes from hearing. Who comes to faith and how many there are lies in the hand of God, who reigns sovereignly over the work of evangelism and church building. A second objective is to also train and equip other evangelists and to encourage congregations to give shape to the work of evangelism. To reduce hesitation regarding evangelism and to stimulate boldness.
